Job Title: Cut Man

Reports to: Crew Foreman
Job Summary: This position of Cut Man will work closely with the Crew Foreman. This position is key to managing the flow of materials for installation to the Crew Foreman and other installation team members. This is an experienced level position that requires an advanced understanding of hand tools, power tools, and safety. A strong knowledge of hardware, fasteners, and construction terms is also required. This is a fast paced position, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to teach others to create further opportunities as the company grows.

Leadership

- Review and understand all job related plans and paperwork
- Fabricate and supply to the lead the materials needed for the project
- Work efficiently and maintain good productivity
- Demonstrate advanced tool and material skill and knowledge
- Anticipate needs and prepare materials/tools in advance of the Lead Foreman’s needs • Manage the team so everyone contributes
- Assist the Lead Foreman with identifying potential issues and find solutions
- Review on-site materials for future needs daily
- Inspect material packages and deliveries for missing/damaged items
- Inspect work and see the details (eliminate punch-list and call-backs)
- Check trailer supplies/inventory weekly
Communication
- Communicate clearly and ask questions
- Regularly check company communications
- Respond in a timely manner to all communications
- Communicate materials needs with Project Manager daily • Communicate trailer supply needs to the Project Manager weekly
- When the Lead Foreman is not on-site, upload pictures and create daily log in BuilderTrend before leaving jobsite
Management
- When the Lead Foreman is not on-site, hold team accountable to Bear Creek jobsite standards (language,
- Assist Lead Foreman with team member feedback and review
- When the Lead Foreman is not on-site, communicate with HR about injuries and/or performance issues

- Maintain good hygiene, neat appearance and wear company uniform
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
- Abide by Bear Creek standards and policies
- Attend and engage in company meetings

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years related experience required
This is a field position to be carried out from the Bear Creek office/shop in Waynesboro, VA and on various job sites throughout Central Virginia.
