Team Member Spotlight: Ian Hale

Ian Hale

Ian Hale joined the Bear Creek team in November 2019. He showed a great willingness to learn while keeping the installation process moving as part of the team. He was quickly promoted to Cut Man and now works as a Crew Foreman.  Ian has thrived here and has grown into a strong leader.  Ian is originally from Waynesboro, Virginia and currently resides there with his wife, Jessie and his son.

More From Ian

So far at Bear Creek, one of my favorite projects has been a sunroom addition in Verona.  It was a sunroom addition, and on that particular day I was framing and helping another Foreman, Nick. I liked the community that was formed while working on that job. It was great being a part of something and seeing the big structure come together so quickly. Seeing something built like that is very pleasing and an instant satisfaction.  Something I love about Bear Creek is the opportunity to be a leader. Here at Bear Creek, more than anywhere else, we are pushed to be leaders. That is a valuable characteristic that isn’t seen in the workforce very often. I have also seen a lot of grace for people here, which can be a blessing and a curse, I guess. All-in-all, everyone is pretty respectable of each other, which can help you go far here.

When I am not working, I try to stay pretty busy. I serve a lot with my local church and in the community. I also try to stay pretty active, so I become involved in new activities all the time. The most recent activity that I’ve been involved in has been running half-marathons. It is not as fun and glamorous as it sounds. It’s actually pretty terrible, but it keeps me active. I have also recently become involved in other activities such as rock climbing, surfing, and skateboarding. I have also just started a YouTube channel, which is pretty fun! I try to keep life interesting at work and away from work.

Fun Facts

  1. I have now lived in another country for a cumulative time of one year.
  2. I have conquered snow, water, and the concrete jungle on all types of boards; ones with wheels, fins, and a lack thereof (i.e. skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing).
  3. I am a musician and can play guitar, bass, guitar, drums, ukulele, and didgeridoo.
  4. I love me some good coffee. I am definitely a coffee enthusiast!
  5. I think skydiving is boring. The adrenaline doesn’t come from falling out of the sky. It comes from when they open the door in the plane. Once you jump out of the plane, you’re good.

At Bear Creek, we are blessed to have an amazing team. We share about our team members because we are proud of who they are and we love for you to get to know them better.  To learn more about any of our team members you can visit our Team Page.
