Team Member Spotlight: Zach James

Here at Bear Creek, we are privileged to have such a great team of people working for our clients. Once a month we highlight one of our team members so that you can get to know them a little bit better.

This month’s spotlight falls on Zach James. Zach has just recently joined the Bear Creek team in the last week and works as a Project Manager/Apprentice for the team.

Zach James

Zach James joined the Bear Creek team just recently, in October 2019.  Originally from Bakersfield, CA, Zach now resides in Fishersville, VA with his wife and works as a Project Manager/Apprentice for the team.  Zach is currently being trained by Josh Gorman, who was the previous project manager.  This involves learning the ins-and outs of the Bear Creek systems used to manage projects.  His tasks is to evaluate each project (sketches, measurements, etc.), and then make estimates regarding the material that will be needed to finish the job.  These estimates help our teams work efficiently and complete the project with precision.  Zach joining the team has been a much needed blessing and has helped to take some of the heavy workload off of other team members.

More From Zach

I came to Bear Creek after being referred by a friend of mine, who works at a local coffee shop (Farmhaus Coffee Co.). He connected me with Brian and things seemed to line up from there.  Since joining the team, something I’ve loved is that the Bear Creek team has welcomed me in quickly and given me a place within the team that has purpose. I appreciate the heart of the company to build people as individuals as well as craftsmen. Through things as small as ordinary tasks to each daily interaction, I have also been impacted by the desire they have to strengthen the community as a whole.  When I am not taking measurements and making estimates for Bear Creek, I like to spend time with my wife, Katelyn, and our dog Maya (couldn’t leave her out). My wife and I are also active in a local church and enjoy spending time with that community throughout the week. Along with investing in these relationships, I enjoy drinking coffee, reading (I’m a huge C.S. Lewis fan), and dabbling in various activities, such as running, hiking, fly fishing, archery, and photography.
