Team Member Spotlight: Daniel Moore

Here at Bear Creek, we are privileged to have such a great team of people working for our clients. Once a month we highlight one of our team members so that you can get to know them a little bit better.

This month the spotlight falls on Daniel Moore  – Daniel joined the Bear Creek team since the fall of 2017.  Daniel is originally from California and now calls Waynesboro home, along with his wife and son.  Daniel works out of our Bear Creek shop, where he helps to manage the shop space and builds out everything from cedar tables to specific pieces needed for our field projects.  Here is a little bit more about Brandon in his own words.

What is your position on the Bear Creek team?

I am the Shipping and Receiving Manger for the Bear Creek workshop. I spend most of my time in the workshop handling product and making sure it gets out to the different jobs.  I also spend time putting my creativity to work in the creation of wood furniture.  Along with creating new furniture pieces, I also invest time in prefabrication work (e.g. deck railings, planter boxes, etc…) for our field projects.

How did you come to the Bear Creek team?

I heard about Bear Creek from Brandon Pearce, a fellow team member. Brandon was my next-door neighbor and told me about the job opening after I was laid off from my previous job.

What have been some of your favorite projects to work on and why?

I enjoy crafting that allows me to use natural wood because it adds a particular uniqueness to each project. I am proud of what I’ve been able to learn and create on my own by spending time in the workshop.

What are some things you appreciate and value about working with the Bear Creek team?

Working with the Bear Creek team is honestly like being a part of a family I never had.

When you’re not working with Bear Creek, what do you enjoy doing in your downtime with friends/family?

Although I spend most of my time with Bear Creek doing woodwork, I enjoy continuing with woodwork in my free-time. It is something that I truly love doing. I love to spend time playing games with my son as well.

What are five random facts about you?

I write poetry. My nickname is Poet. My favorite color is baby blue. My favorite book is The Giver by Lois Lowry.

My favorite movie is Rebel Without a Cause.
